The Higher Education Students' Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB) was established by an Act of Parliament to provide loans to needy and deserving students pursuing higher education in registered institutions and recover loans from former beneficiaries. 

The aim of HESLGB is to become financially viable and sustainable in the long run to support more students.
